"I owe my current peace of mind to these guys. I am grateful to them not only for fixing my car when another shop diagnosed "a completely failed engine", but also for treating me with respect and returning all of my calls. We've taken our VW Passat and Jetta TDI to these guys for over 5 years. Originally, I picked them for routine maintenance based on the Car Talk files in which they had an exemplary record. Of course, all this time, I got spoiled by their professional manner and attentiveness, and didn't realize how rare they are in mechanics circles, until we moved out of the area. When we moved, I reached out to them again when a new mechanic claimed that my TDI engine was "toast" and I needed to replace it. Darryl advised me what questions to ask of my new mechanic over a period of 3 weeks of almost daily calls. Exasperated with the lack of results and the nonsensical explanations from the new mechanic, I towed my car to Darryl. Turns out all this time, the other shop either did not know how to fix my car or more likely, they were trying to take me for a ride. (I tried towing my car to other shops, but no one wanted to work on replacing a TDI engine. One guy lectured me on oil changes. Another called me "darhling". I got treated as some kind of female idiot who drove her car into the ground and didn't do the appropriate maintenance.) When Darryl got the car, he and his team diagnosed it within 48 hours. It was the same diagnosis my dad mentioned nearly a month before, as the car was seizing on the side of the road. (this had been dismissed by the new mechanic as not possible, since he had heard all these other noises, and forgotten by me, amid the frustration and indignation) Within a week of having my car at Precision, my car was in perfect running condition, and the engine was fine. If it was not for Darryl, his hard work and advice, I might not have a car today, but several thousand dollars worth of unnecessary work, and an engine I do not need. I don't know what I am going to do to find a good mechanic closer to where I live, but for the time being I will continue to go to Precision, where they know how to diagnose and fix a car just like my dad would!"

"This is my favorite place to get work done on my Volkswagen. I found them after trying to get a problem with an EPC light on in my dash fixed by both the dealership and another mechanic in Portland. Both times, the light came back on a few days after and was another $300 fix. I explained this to Darrell, who owns Precision, and he kindly explained to me what they were going to do to fix my problem, and if the light came back on that they would go back in and work on it for free. This is something neither the dealership or the other mechanic was willing to do. This was a few years ago, the light hasn't come on since the first time. They're always super friendly, honest, and have fair prices. I went in today to have my oil changed, and now Darrell's son works at the shop too, so they're really a family business! It's a nice atmosphere. They do Porsche, Audi, and VW. They have a website, http://www.precisionmo.... Call them, I hate mechanics but I've never felt pressured or intimidated by anyone there."

"These guys know Audis! My TT has had its fair share of problems over the years, and Darryl and his team are awesome at identifying when repairs are critical, and when they're not. He correctly advised me to change my timing belt sooner than the manual called for -- when I balked, he calmly told me his experience was that the manual was wrong. Lo and behold -- 2 months later, Audi sent a notice to me, and advised me to change the timing belt. They know their stuff, are friendly, and sympathetic to the plight of the cash-strapped motorist. If they service your make, you will not find a better mechanic."

"I've been taking my VW to precision for about 5 years now- prior to that, I tried just about every other VW shop in town and never had much luck. Darrell at Precision knows VWs inside and out, and he's always willing to help me find a workaround for the weird problems my car has."

"I've owned 5 VW's in the last 12 years and I have taken each one to Darrell at Precision Motor Car. I can't tell you how nice it is to have a reliable mechanic that I can trust. I would and have recommended Precision to anyone with a Volkswagen. You will never regret it. They are awesome!"
